Generic content

Generic content will be the page you use the most when creating your site because it can be used for a wide range of content types.

Generic content pages are adaptable and can be used for a range of content including text, images and video.

Most of the pages on this demonstration website are generic content pages, so you can see the many different ways you can design your pages.

A generic content page is usually dedicated to one specific item or issue and, therefore, contains more detailed information about the relevant area.

Building your generic content page

You can use text and the different page components, such as tables, quotes, images and videos, to make up your page content.

You can explore the components available for you to use in our 'Page components' section.

Topic and structure

In general, you should have one purpose per generic content page. If you are trying to cover more than one topic or purpose on a generic content page, consider dividing your content into multiple pages.
