Videos can be added to provide an alternative source of information for your audience.

Videos can be added via the 'Add Video' button when editing your site.

Videos can be uploaded directly into the platform from your device for embedding on your site, or the can be embedded from an external site such as Media Hopper, You Tube or Vimeo.

If a video is enbedded, it can be played on the page without the user having to follow any links, and is an engaging and interactive way to showcase your content.

You can also add a link to a video if needed, but make sure to follow our guidelines on writing good link text if you do this.

Making your videos accessible

Remember that not all users will be able to access video. It's important to give the information in text form, too.

The ideal for accessibility is that:

  • Your video is fully subtitled (for those unable to hear the audio track)
  • A link is provided to a full transcript (for those unable to play the video at all)
  • A short summary is provided on the page to give you audience an idea of what to expect.
