Custom HTML

The Custom HTML component in EdWeb 2 allows you to integrate HTML code into your webpages so you can display widgets that are relevant to your website.

Blocks of custom HTML can be used to embed:

  • University widgets
  • Third-party content from sites that do not set cookies.

These can include:

  • Maps
  • Videos
  • Notification or social media feeds
  • Rankings and performance data from external sources (e.g. Unistats)

Our working location - example HTML widget

This is an example of a map with a pinned location added to the page using a University widget.

It shows the working location of the University's Website Publishing Services in Argyle House.

Maps are one of the most common uses of custom HTML widgets.

If you are needing to embed a map in your website, the University has created an easy-to-use tool which writes the code for you based on a location you choose.
